It’s a machine.
Reliability іѕ a human trait.
A bike саn’t fix itself. Maintain itself. It саn’t even gеt fuel fοr itself. If уου don’t dο everything fοr іt, іt won’t dο anything fοr уου.
Sο nο bike, οr car, οr truck hаѕ “reliability”.
Aѕ far аѕ hοw long іt wіll last…іt’ll last аѕ long аѕ уου take care οf іt. Bυt ѕіnсе уου hаνе tο аѕk something lіkе thаt, іt doesn’t sound lіkе уου wіll.

“How many miles do kawi ninja’s last without problems”
That all depends on how well the maintenance recommendations have been followed and who performed these tasks. Does the seller have documentation? No? it’s a crap shoot.
I have a 125cc Eliminator and a 750cc Vulcan. Both are excelent in quality. Generally, the 4 japaneese bikes are very similar in quality. the 125cc has a service life of 50,000 miles. the 750 has a service life of 100,000 miles. I would think the 500 ninja would last 100,000 miles properly maintained. Watch out though. One trick is to diconect the odometer/speedometer once used to using the tack. If it does not have a new elecetronic one I would always asume the milage is incorect and haggle the price accordingly.
I have owned a few Kawasaki’s. Going back to my KZ 650 in about 83 or so up to my current bike a Vulcan 900. Over all I have had very good luck with them. Like most have said here reliability has alot to do with the maintenance and care the bike gets. If its been rode like it was stolen and not taken care of it should have some tell tale signs. Look at the wear on the chain and sprockets. If edges of teeth ar gone and groves are deep chain is dry, chances are he don’t take care enough to adjust the chain. Look the tires over, is the rear bald from burn outs? Oil leaks up in the frame around side covers? I personally don’t care for the crotch rocket type bikes, but that is me. For the most part they are rode very hard. High RPM before shifting. Look in the oil window or pull the dip stick if it has one, look at the oil smell if you can. Smell funny like burnt part of clutch? Look at the brake rotors see if they are evenly worn and colored. Hope this helps you out. You’ll enjoy motorcycling once you find a good bike.
